Learn to make Karelian pastys!

Karelian pastys are a traditional favourite in Eastern Finland. By trying you hand at making them, you truly are in the heart of the Finnish Karelian food culture. On this course you will be be led by a mentor to the secrets of simmering perfect porridge and making a tasty mixture of rye flour and other necessary ingredients to create a successful paste to make your pies from. You will roll the dough and learn to create the unique shape the pastys have. The ready pastys will be baked in an oven. Finns often enjoy the pastys with a tasty mixture of egg and butter, and on the course you will also be able to do the same. The course will end at a gathering where everybody will be able to taste the pastys that have been made and also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee or a glass of cold milk.

 

The duration of the course is 3 hours. The price is 25€ from adults and 10€ from children. The price includes the ingredients and guiding.

Instructions/how to fill:

  1. On the “subject”-box please type the name of the trip you are enrolling in (for example guided tour of the Kitee zoo, Karelian pasty course).
  2. On the “message”-box please type the number of people that want to take part on the trip (for example 1 child and 1 adult).
  3. Please write the date you would like to go on the trip to the “message” box too.
  4. If you’re enrolling in a trip that has dining include, please mention special diets in the “message”-box also.
  5. If you have any questions, you can add them in the “message”-box. We will answer them as fast as we can.

This is not an automatic online-enrollment. Submit the form, and our receptionist will contact you as soon as possible after they are sure whether the trip is being arranged on the day you have chosen and if it has any free places left. Your enrollment is not obligatory before the confirmation of our receptionist. The given information will only be used to make the trip reservation.
